I raced in the "Follow the Road to Broad" 5K race on the campus of MSU in East Lansing. Finish 2nd in my age group by less than 6 seconds. Good thing i'm not competitive!
I ran the NYC Marathon yesterday! I finished in 4:05:52 which is about right for the lack of training I've been able to get in over the last 8 weeks due to a nagging calf issue. The first 10 miles were good but I went into preservation mode at the halfway point and just ran slow/walked the rest of the way. Great course and the people of NYC are incredible!
I ran the Vulcan Run 10K this morning in downtown Birmingham. 'Unofficial' time 1:29:40 - clock time; this was a chip-timed race, so I'm waiting on the official results to be posted.
Although my left knee got a little weak at mile 5, I was able to perservere and finish!
I had the most amazing time running the New York City Marathon with the Achilles Track Club. As this was my first full marathon, I set a PR of 5:51:02. I uploaded a couple of photos.
two weeks after marathon and not sure what I could do. Consistent with one year ago if not a hair faster. pretty decent since I have been running long and slow for 6 months. Photo is my friend and me running the race. I am on the left. I think we really pushed each other.
