I did our local 5K. Starts just a couple blocks from our house. It is a looped course through the neighborhoods. It was a great temp. for running, low 50's, sunny but windy a brisk NW breeze w/gusts to 30+. Of course it was a headwind for a good portion of the route. There were no time splits or mile markers so I wasn't sure how it was going. I felt pretty good through the whole race and pushed down the last section with the wind at my back. I finished in 21:58. Not my fastest but I finished and that is always my main goal. After I finished I ran back out to pace in my wife, Tammy and her friend. All in all a good day.
5km fundraiser for hospital...had my PB in 5km, but it ws a tough run for me..
I must brag for my friend's daughter who was first in woman...she is 15 and ran it in 19+min...
What did you run Dianna? I did the Orthopedic Associates 5K with Stephanie and Michelle. I did 22:29--that's not my PB, but it is my best time since I was about 23 years-old. They had the course set up too long...3.32 miles. How could they screw that up. I am not counting the last 0.22 miles.
Good job on your run!
Ran Pittsburgh marathon today. Ran a 3:38:04, total of 3431 marathon finishers. Overall I was 93 of 1276 women and 13th of 169 in my division. Life is good. Full race report when I have more energy.
Ran the Frederick Marathon yesterday. Finished 14th overall in 3:02:11 which ended a streak of 12 consecutive sub-3 hour finishes. Not the race I hoped for, but the marathon is always a great learning experience and I'm pleased with the way I gutted it out to the finish.
Did the Inaugural Wisconsin Marathon on Saturday - my first one! I finished in 3:54:19, 7th in my age group and 153rd overall. Full report is up over at my blog!
15th Annual Greater Buffalo Track Club Grand Island Half Marathon, Saturday May 2nd. Goal was to run 1:49 (equivalent of a 3:50 marathon, pace group I'm running with in Cleveland in two weeks), finished in 1:48:16. Out and Back course, went out at 1:47 pace, but coming hit some 18-22 mph winds.
I did the metric century course of the Wild Goose Chase in Cambridge, MD yesterday. Rain held off until mile 48, low to mid 50's, a bit windy but awesome! What they called a metric ended up being 65 miles. Ultra flat, we did it in 4 hrs & 45 min, counting stops for all the great ride snacks along the way. We were not the fastest but stuck it out during the rain to JUST FINISH! The real fun came on the ride back to NJ, stuck in bumper to bumper on the NJ turnpike for 2 extra hours. Getting ready for Tour de Cure on June 6th in Basking Ridge, NJ; 60 miles of rolling hills (contemplating the 80 mi route...)
I joggled the Indy Mini Marathon. >35,000 people and very well organized. Got to run around then Indy 500 track. An excellent experience.
I didn't get a good corral and spent most of the race trying to get around other runners. It was fun to pass so many people but it did slow me down a bit. Finished in 1:39:00 and had one drop around mile 5. I certainly won the "Juggler's Division". Full report coming soon on my blog.
Finished the 3-State 3-mountain Challenge Century on May 2nd. Ride starts and ends in Chattanooga, TN and goes through TN/AL/ and GA. Ascends and descends Sucks creek, Sand Mountain and Lookout mountain. Heavy rain for half of the ride, made first downhill treacherous. Finished strong as did others in my ride group.
