2nd major goal of the year has been accomplished!! Just Finished my first half marathon!!

So I made it only twice!! Have finished TWO sprint triathlons within 1 month!! Update to come on the half!! It isn't scheduled until Oct 17th so needing to log in more running miles. Focus has changed!!

I'm really late here!! My 2009 goal is to run more than 1,000 miles. I'm at 552 now :)

Whoo hoo! Passed the 80 mile mark today for the month of June, and I still have one more run left before the month's over!! YAY

Working on my goal of finishing my first triathlon. It will be a sprint tri for women only, thought that would be a good first. Then will be working on my first half marathon.

I've just started running so my goals are modest this year - to finish a 5k at the end of April and then work up to a 10k. Maybe a half marathon by year end/ start of 2010. My main reason for running is to enjoy the experience and be out in the fresh air - achieving clocked races is secondary so I'm taking things easy: one step at a time!

I recently signed up for my first marathon! I'll be running the Outer Banks Marathon in NC on November 8, 2009, and am raising money for the Ronald McDonald House of Durham, NC.

Right now, I plan on running the Charlotte RaceFest Half Marthon and 10K on 4/18. My neighbor has recruited me into running the 10k portion. This will be my VERY FIRST race. Im nervous but excited.

This is the week where things get serious.

Sure, Barack Obama will be sworn into office, there's apparently word of a ceasefire in Gaza, and the economy's looking to tank even more than it has. All important, to be certain. But, this is also the week of the Carlsbad Marathon, the first of three marathons I shall attempt to complete in just 36 days.
