Oh yeah... I guess I am going to the P F Changs Rock and Roll in the Phoenix on January 17th!

I participated in the Running Elvi activities at the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Half-Marathon AND ran the Half-marathon as Elvis. It was a lot of fun. I worked the crowd to cheer the runners on!
My time was horrible and not a personal running PR @ 2:36:18. It was a PR for running it as a costumed character.
You can read about it at http://www.cewtwo.com/
I even got interviewed for TV and made the 5 and 11 news on channel 8 - KLAS!

Cool idea Charles. Good luck in your half.

The extra leis? One for the person that hands me my finisher medal and the others for close supporters!

I'm also going to wear 16 leis around my neck. One goes off each completed mile to a cheering sideline supporter. I have created two bcard designs to attach to the leis. One will say, "Elvis Lei'd one on you!" and "You've been Lei'd by Elvis!"
After all, What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

That is where I do subscribe! I would not have known if I could have run it without the practice. It was Halloween morning. I put the wig, glasses, and the original costume on and ran my 10 mile long run in it. I did it and it was fairly easy to do. I have since purchased an athletic jumpsuit with Hawaiian overtones. I'll wear the compression stuff under, and the Elvis jumpsuit over!
Pictures will be available after the Vegas RnR and I will provide them (or a site to see them on)!

That's all that matters. If your up and going you have won. I was wondering if you train as Elvis or just up for the race.

OK... I'm running the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Half-marathon on Sunday, December 6th. I doubt that I will win it... I doubt that I will set a PR... But I am off the couch and running! Furthermore, I'll be running it as one of the Running Elvi!

Mike - I'd go with the Garmin. My garmin said 13.2 for my 1/2 yesterday, and I figure that since courses are generally measured on the tangents, that it is highly likely that I don't run the shortest route on any course. I figure if I took the extra steps, I'm giving myself credit for it. So, go with the 10:54 pace :-)
