Well, I was planning to run a trail run this weekend, but my plans were changed for me when I took a tumble earlier this week. So, I don't plan to run another race until the 17th. That's just a couple of weeks away, so it should give me ample time to heal from my tumble earlier this week.
Thanks for the SPL update. It is comforting to have Rangers in front of you in the table. They've certainly choked away bigger leads that this. I will keep you posted on the race.
There is a place near SF that is always foggy - and beautiful 5 days a year with the sunshine when they all put out for sale signs,,, great area when the view is available... Hope your week is going well... Cal
Thank you Helen - you need to see SF in the Spring or Fall when the weather is best (Its foggy in the summer and rainy in the winter) - perhaps some racing as an inspiration - there are several in the area with the scenery as a backdrop to enjoy... Hope your week is going well, best to you, Cal
Helen - Good luck on your 10K. You sound like you are ready. You certainly have the right attitude . I think once you figure that you are not really racing against all the other runner and just against yourself and you can set your own goals, it becomes more fun. I wouldn't worry too much about walking once and a while. It's a good opportunity to gather yourself, catch your breath and get ready to push on to the finish or in the case of a 10K, your next break. Thanks for the congrats on the marathon. You know it is just a blur to me now. It was hard, but not that hard, kind of strange. My time was much better than I expected. I am getting ready to do another one in 2 weeks, Cleveland, Ohio. My daughter and several other JF members are going to that one. I am not so ready for this time, I will see how much I have recovered. Will do a lot of walking this time. I am the oldest of seven brothers and the first to do a marathon, so I currrently hold the family record which I expect to last one more week, because my bro Don is running in Geneva Switerland, this Sunday and he's fast.
Please let me know how your run goes. I always enjoy exchanging notes with you. - Jim
Thanks, Helen, for the post and encouragement. I haven't been able to be consistent lately. I recently went to an allergist to see if allergies are my problem. So far the mediciation he provided is giving me much relief. I'm trying to get back into training this week, since there is a race this upcoming weekend I'd like to participate in. Wish me luck!!
